Our first dive with Bermudian wreck historian Russell Whayman. The Iristo is a nice wreck to navigate on, with interesting features at both the bow and stern. A large grey snapper was hiding inside the bow section, which persuaded me to go in for a closer look (meaning I had to remove my tank to get in....). The Iristo is a shallow wreck (picture 1 shows how close the boat is!), and the stern section is very close to the surface. As a result, several mooring lines have got tangled on her wreckage (picture 17). The deck winches (picture 8), as always, lead to nice pictures, and the visibility was such that most of the wreck can be seen from the bow (picture 18).
